Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds activated shortstop Jeff Keppinger off the 15-day disabled list on Sunday and opened a roster spot by designating infielder Andy Phillips for assignment. Keppinger had been sidelined with a fractured left kneecap, an injury sustained in a May 13 game against Florida when he fouled a ball off his knee. In 39 games this season entering Sunday's contest against the New York Yankees, Keppinger was batting .324 with three homers and 21 runs batted in.
