07/07/2010 - Chicago, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Chicago White Sox have placed right-hander Jake Peavy on the 15-day disabled list with a detached latissimus dorsi muscle in his right posterior shoulder.

Peavy came down with the injury during Tuesday's start against the Angels, leaving with two outs in the second inning of the eventual win.

The former Cy Young winner and two-time All-Star is 7-6 with a 4.63 earned run average through 17 starts this year, his first full season in Chicago. In 107 innings, he has 93 strikeouts and 34 walks.

Recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to fill the roster spot was fellow righty Jeffrey Marquez, who will look to make his major league debut with the club.

The 25-year-old went 7-4 with a 4.02 ERA in 17 starts this season for Charlotte. He walked 31 and struck out 54 over 99 2/3 innings. Marquez was acquired from the New York Yankees on November 13, 2008 as part of a five- player trade.
